Sunday, 17th of November at Euro Torri mall in Parma: from 16:30 onwards we celebrate Luigi Alfieri’s twenty years of writing career.
Born in Cella di Palmia (province of Parma) in 1957, Luigi Alfieri started his career as a travel journalist; he was president of Neos, an association that brings together journalists and photographers. He has written books on history and literature, including Il Piccolo Socrate (The Small Socrates), Parma, la vita e gli amori (Parma, Life and Loves), Gigli Azzurri (Blue Lilies), and the travel book Dune, Balene e microchip (Dune, whales and microchips). He is currently chief editor at «Gazzetta di Parma», the oldest newspaper in Italy, and has worked for over a decade for «La Stampa» of Turin. He organized exhibitions and conferences on travel, poetry and literature in general. Il Sole e La Neve (Sun and snow), fiction story published in numbered edition by Fermoeditore, is his latest literary effort.
Protagonists of the great event next Sunday will be Silentia Lunae, an ensemble of musicians specialized in ancient music (Maria Caruso, soprano and violin, and Richard Benecchi, classical guitar, will play music by Paganini and Maria Luigia’s times), the singer Livia Farnese (will sing classics of jazz, soul and French repertoire) and the most excellent accordionist Corrado Medioli, while the actors Paul Briganti and Mirella Cenni will read excerpts from Alfieri’s books. Other guests will participate… but you’ll have to come and see for yourself.
The site dedicated to the shows will be Mondadori library in Euro Torri, which will set up a corner with all the author’s books; Luigi Alfieri, Marta Santacatterina and Giovanni Amoretti will be available to the public to sign copies of the latest Parma Color Malva (Parma mauve), on sale at newsstands.
For the event, Fermoeditore has created the volume Vent’anni e non sentirli (Twenty years and still rocking – tribute to Luigi Alfieri’s writing career): a tribute to the author consisting of excerpts and comments from co-workers and friends, with photographs by Cinzia Munari and by Enrico Robusti’s illustrations. The book will be presented during the afternoon.
