Good food and good reads: a hard-to-beat combination! The last event of the 2012 season of Eat as you write, entitled Night of the commissioners and investigators, provided all guests with an engaging and entertaining evening.
Designed by journalist Gianluigi Negri, the event has seen the participation in the literary and artistic dinner at the restaurant Ca ‘Pina of writers Valerio Varesi and Matteo Bortolotti, together with the cartoonist Alessio Alberici. As usual, brief and interesting interventions entertained the audience between courses. Bortolotti started talking about the work of Varesi, defined as an “instant classic” author; for his part, Varesi presented the volume of Goldfish by Alberici, a volume collection of Fermoeditore with a preface by Varesi himself. Finally, Alberici spoke about the new whodunit of Bortolotti, The mystery of the lost lodge, set in Bologna and whose main character is the author’s alter ego.
Some works of Alessio Alberici have been exhibited in the hall, presented by the designer who explained how much work is behind each design, emphasizing its own peculiarities: it is almost the only artist left to make the lettering of his comics by hand. As the end of the evening neared, Gianluigi Negri announced the new location of Eat as you write in 2013, the restaurant 12 Monks of Fontevivo. Among the evenings planned, Fermoeditore will take centre stage again on April 12 with “The sun and snow”, in the company of author Luigi Alfieri and painter Enrico Robusti.
