The Frankfurt Book Fair ended on October 14 after reaching a small (0.6 per cent) increase in the total number of visitors, including 281,753 attendance days of the general public over the weekend. Among the international exhibitors, Fermoeditore presented a simple but effective stall, the typical colors of the publisher – red, black and white – appreciated by his colleagues and the public.
Many guests who flocked to the stall during the five days of the event: in addition to Luigi Alfieri, author of “Sun and snow” and Stefano Brianti, photographer and author of “Brownfield”, accompanied by their wives, other friends from Parma visited in person the vast and varied world of this fair of international importance.
In addition to friends from Galerie Vevais , the publisher has teamed up with the impressive bookshop of Bonn Gebrüder Remmel , exchanged views, opinions, special editions with neighbors and “art” colleagues (including edition noir). Interesting conversation started with young German authors and the poetic Russian painter Galya Popova.
Beyond the content, the book “The sun and the snow” was admired for images of Henry Strong and his papermaking choices, and “Brownfield” has attracted a lot of attention because of its unique lead cover. Both presented to an international audience by the authors and by publishers, have held high the Italian flag in Hall 4.1, traditionally dedicated to art books and design.
Among the works still in the design phase, a warm welcome has been paid to the graduation thesis from the students of IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) specifically for Fermoeditore, especially “Yellow like a blue cat”, Julia Coppola, Silvia and Paolo Magnani Zadra.
Tired but happy, the team is preparing Fermoeditore 2013, this time thinking also about London and New York.
