After the world mountaineering legend Kurt Diemberger, guest of honor of the appointment of March, for the month of April, the event “Mangia Come Scrivi” wants to stay on the “top” focusing on the oldest newspaper of Italy (La Gazzetta di Parma) and the most awarded abroad tricolor brewery (il Birrificio del Ducato).
The protagonists of the evening “Cuba, il Ducato e i coriandoli della memoria”, scheduled for Friday, April 12th beginning at 21 at the Restaurant 12 Monaci in Fontevivo (Parma), will be four of the most important signatures of the daily news founded in 1735: Davide Barilli, Gabriele Balestrazzi, Luigi Alfieri and Claudio Rinaldi. Together with them, one of the greatest Italian painter: the parmesan Enrico Robusti, invited to Biennale in Venice in 2011. To stand out against the table, in the room with the leaders of brewery will also be beers from Ducato (www.birrificiodelducato.net), produced in Roncole Verdi, a few hundred meters from the house where Giuseppe Verdi was born 200 years ago.
During the dinner organized and conducted by Gianluigi Negri we will not talk, with guests, about their work as journalists: everyone was invited into the shoes of a writer. The four entries in the menu proposed by the chef Andrea Nizzi will be paired to four different beers. And they will constitute an “invitation” to short presentations, and short readings of the books of the authors, that follow. We will start with a traditional appetizer of the Ducato, after which Balestrazzi will talk about his instant book “Il Ducato 5 Stelle” (Fedelo’s), in which he recounts the years of the “parmesan revolution”.
We will continue with a first course linked to memory, a theme shared with the 142 “confetti” of the precious slow book of Alfieri “Sun and Snow” (Fermoeditore), printed on paper straw and handmade, made of 300 copies signed and numbered. For the second entry, an extraordinary artistic creation of the chef, defiantly turned to Health issue: the plum duck (duck with pork inside, with rabbit inside, with beef inside) served with chips of white turnip it will preced the intervention of Rinaldi on the new “Supersalute – 7 mosse per dimagrire, restare sani, contrastare l’invecchiamento” (Sperling&Kupfer), written with the cardiologist Massimo Gualerzi. Finally the flavours of Cuba in the dessert, paired with “Il Gallo in Bicicletta” (just presented in la Havana and illustrated by Ramon Perez Pereira), with whom Barilli, for Fedelo’s, closes his trilogy of “Carte d’Avana” and “La Ragazza di Alamar”.
For the duration of the dinner will be displayed and screened in the room the original drawings by Enrico Robusti for “Sun and snow”.
Cost of the dinner: 35 €
