Fermo Tanzi is a multi-faceted figure. He completed his primary and middle school education as a boarder at the “Arrigo Boito” Music Conservatory in Parma. In addition, he studied wind and string instruments on his own, and is also a luthier. He went on to achieve a high school diploma in science subjects, before graduating in Law. While studying he also worked with his father, a company manager, beginning his career as a manual worker and gradually moving up the ladder to become a businessman in the services sector.

In addition to his musical interests, he enjoys archery and developing software.
The publishing house remained an unfulfilled idea for Fermo until a special encounter aroused in him the desire to give a boost to promising young names in the field of literature and art. While seeking help to develop the graphics and marketing side of his business. This encounter generated new energies, opportunities and enthusiasm, and thus the dream began to take concrete shape.

Without knowing it Fermo Tanzi had a dream: creating books. Books different from any others. They had to be amazing, beautiful to look at, touch and to hold. Where every page can be relished. The kind of books that he liked, to be discussed with friends or family. Or to be flicked through in blissful solitude seated in an armchair. Not just books but books to fees the eyes and the soul. Real communicative works of art not just simple receptacles of empty words.

Fate made the dream become reality. Fermoeditore was founded.

It is not really a publishing house in the traditional sense but a group made up of frequent travellers and various travelling companions: the authors. Since 2009 it has been developing different projects which the creative director Fermo Tanzi has transformed into works of art with a soul. Using this approach the graphic, photographic or descriptive elements, materials and the paper used are all chosen carefully to “bind” the contents together.
